You should familiarise yourself as much as possible with what has already been funded in your area. Knowing this will help you understand the type of grant typically awarded as well as key competitors or potential collaborators to be aware of.

Information on EPSRC's funded portfolio is available on Visualising our Portfolio, a Tableau tool which you can use to search by theme, research area, funding route and organisation. This contains data about awards that were live as of 30 November 2024; there is not yet an equivalent tool for awards funded using The Funding Service.
